Electrical Test Technician

Description General information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking an Electrical Test Technician for its Crystal Springs, Mississippi location.
This role is responsible for Quality Control inspections & testing throughout the manufacturing & testing areas by following general instructions, technical requirements, and customer specifications.
This person will provide support within the Quality organization by analyzing/troubleshooting quality and test issues by using available quality tools, quality instruments, as well as other equipment.

Responsibilities:
Learn and perform testing thru-manufacturing process and also in the power test lab; some of these tests include (but are not limited to):
Ratio and Phase Relation Test; Insulation Resistance Test; Insulation Power Factor Test; DC Resistance Test ; Core Loss and Exciting Current Test; Load Loss and Impedance Test; Lighting Impulse; Switching Impulse; Front of Wave Impulse; Applied Potential; Induced Potential with Partial Discharge; Temperature Rise Tests; Sweep Frequency Response Analysis Test; Test Result calculations and verification of test results.
Perform some mathematical calculations to ensure product quality & integrity with an understanding of quality practices, instruments, and related equipment.
Read customer specifications & technical documentation, and audit process to ensure compliance.
Follow technical drawings and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Utilize the available Quality System software and basic computer programs (including Microsoft Word & Excel).
Perform technical tasks in the quality organization.
Provide support for complex activities and operate equipment (such as quality instruments and other equipment).
Follow general instructions to maintain and update department files (including quality standards, drawings, technical reference files, etc.
).
Review processes, plans, and practices for conformance to quality requirements.
Make decisions related to specific assignments, requests, and/or priorities.
Demonstrate effective communication skills to interface internally, with other functional groups, vendors, and customers.
Additional duties may be assigned, as needed.
Your background:
Associate's degree in a Technology-oriented discipline or High School Diploma (or GED) with a minimum of 2
years of professional experience working with Transformer and/or Electrical systems.
Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, and/or Electrical Engineering fields.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience working under industrial regulations (e.
g.
IEC, IEEE, etc.
).
Strong understanding of power technologies, especially transformer systems and/or related technologies (e.
g.
electromagnetics, induction systems, power electronics, etc.
).
Ability to work any shift.
